The Gender Affirming Closet (GAC) was created back in 2019 by one of our past student staff members and the director. The purpose of the GAC is to provide sustainable, gender-affirming clothing options to our patrons free of charge. Resembling a thrift store, patrons can come in and pick gently used items. While the GAC is open year round during our normal business hours, we make an effort to provide brand new binders during our larger events ‘pop up events’.  During the summer hours it is best to make an appointment by emailing rainbowcenter@uconn.edu with the subject line: Gender Affirming Closet Appointment.   The GAC is taking donations of gently used or new items.  Please email to make an appointment to drop off your donation.
