The awards are as follows:

Outstanding UConn Undergraduate Student Leader [Rainbow Center Student Employees are not eligible]: Given in recognition of an undergraduate student’s commitment and contributions to the LGBTQIA+ Community at UConn. They are a student who speaks up, lead actions, and strives to make UConn a better place for all LGBTQIA+ people.

Outstanding UConn Graduate Student Leader [Rainbow Center Graduate Employees are not eligible]: Given in recognition of a graduate student’s commitment and contributions to the LGBTQIA+ Community at UConn. They are a student who speaks up, lead actions, and strives to make UConn a better place for all LGBTQIA+ people.

Outstanding UConn Professional or UConn Staff Member: Given in recognition of a staff member’s support and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ Community here at UConn. Whether at events, from within their unit, or in their everyday advocacy, this person is committed to making UConn a more inclusive place for LGBTQIA+ people.

Outstanding UConn Virtual or In-Person Teaching and Classroom Inclusion: Given in recognition of a campus member’s contributions to the Academic Space with the goal of broader inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people, identities, and history into classroom instruction. These people are committed to making sure LGBTQIA+ are reflected in classroom experience and knowledge.

Outstanding Department Ally: Given in recognition to a unit of campus (academic or administrative) for their work to increase inclusion and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ people here at UConn. This award is given to a department/unit, so please state the name of the unit or department in your nomination.
